WHO WE WORK WITH
-
An initial assessment allows me to get to know you and your child, their communication strengths, and their support needs. This may include play-based assessment, observation, and discussion with caregivers.
-
Individual therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s needs and interests. Sessions are play-based, engaging, and flexible, with a strong focus on functional communication.
-
Parents and caregivers are a vital part of communication development. I offer coaching and practical strategies you can use at home, in everyday routines.
-
I support children who use, or may benefit from, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), including symbol-based systems. AAC is viewed as a tool to support communication and language - not a replacement for speech.
I am also able to support families through the process of applying for funded AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices through the Ministry of Health.
-
Where appropriate, I can liaise with teachers and early childhood educators to support consistency across environments.
-
Teletherapy is an option for families who prefer support from home or who are unable to attend in-person sessions.
Online sessions are delivered via a secure video platform and are tailored to suit your child’s age, communication needs, and attention. Sessions may include play-based interaction, visual supports, parent coaching, and modelling strategies that can be used in everyday routines.
Teletherapy can be particularly helpful for:
Families living rurally or outside the local area
Children who are more comfortable in their home environment
Parent coaching and consultation
Ongoing support between in-person sessions
I will always discuss whether teletherapy is a good fit for your child and can adjust the format to ensure sessions are supportive, engaging, and meaningful.
